Camilla Scala

Camilla Scala was born in 1950 in Castellammare di Stabia, in the province of Naples. She has three children and seven grandchildren. She holds a degree in Literature. She taught Italian and Latin at the Scientific High School in her city until her retirement in 2009. Passionate about theater, in 1993 she founded the Teatro & Dintorni Association, whose theatrical company, composed of very young actors, received a special mention at the “Premio Scenario” organized by E.T.I. in 1995 with the play “The Professor,” which she wrote and directed. With the same company, she participated in the European Theatre Encounters Festival in Avignon, France, in 1996. From 1999 to 2002, in collaboration with E.T.I. (Italian Theatre Organization), she designed, organized, and completed a three-year “Actor Training Course” as part of the theater promotion project in “Disadvantaged Areas.”

In 2002, she organized and managed the “Cantieri Sociali” in Castellammare di Stabia, an experimental project by the Province of Naples aimed at preventing youth discomfort through artistic workshops.

In the past ten years, she has conducted numerous training courses in theater practice. She has written several plays and directed their productions.

“Vico Fissale* – the research” is her first novel.
